As those eight ear piercing BUFF engines head towards you on the approach to land, they give you a tinnitus ring and once they get over head you go a bit deaf. Great sound though . Amazing to watch as they pilot lines up for the runway sideways, then yaws in at the last moment, crabbing it round to touch down perfectly.
