Washington Today (3-19-24): Bipartisan gov’t spending deal announced with few days until shutdown

A bipartisan agreement on the final six FY2024 federal spending bills, including the last holdout in the negotiations, the Homeland Security Department, is announced by House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY). Friday is the deadline to get it passed and signed into law to prevent a partial government shutdown.
